GPSA Officials Training
Marlbank Pool
Start: 5:30 PM
End: 8:00 PM
Organizing a GPSA swim meet requires the collective effort of our community, and we depend on the support of our families to volunteer for the many essential shifts at each division meet. While some volunteer positions require no prior training, several key roles—such as meet starter and stroke-and-turn judge—do require training. The league will offer training for these positions on the following dates: June 1, 2026, at Marlbank Pool (167 Old Landing Rd, Yorktown, VA 23692) from 5:30–8:00 p.m. June 4, 2026, at Warwick Yacht Club (400 Maxwell Lane, Newport News, VA 23606) from 5:30–8:00 p.m. Please use the following link to register: 2026 GPSA Officials Training Registration Additionally, we kindly request that you email [email protected] to inform us of your intention to attend and specify the position you are training for. It is important for us to confirm sufficient participation to run a successful meet or determine whether additional volunteers are needed. |

GPSA Scorekeeper Training
Google Meet
Start: 6:00 PM
End: 7:00 PM
Organizing a GPSA swim meet requires the collective effort of our community. We depend on the support of our families to volunteer for the essential shifts at each division meet. The Scorekeeper is an essential member of the meet support staff. The scorekeeper sits at the scorekeepers’ table and records in Meet Maestro the finish times of each swimmer, order of finish, disqualifications (as indicated by signed DQ slips), and maintains an ongoing record of the score. If you are interested in training for this position, GPSA will offer a session on June 11, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. via Google Meet. Please email [email protected] for additional details or to express your interest. |
