Swim Meets 101
Time Trials:
Time Trials are our first meet. This is an opportunity for the coaches to get times for all swimmers in each stroke. Children age 6 and under will only be timed in Freestyle and Backstroke. Swimmers must be able to swim the length of the pool by this date.
Meet Absences:
Your swimmer may have to miss a scheduled swim meet. The coaches completely understand. Please be courteous and sign your child(ren) out well in advance of that particular swim meet. Please visit the meet signup page to sign your child out of a swim meet.
During Meets:
The upper pool is closed to swimmers during home meets. Per GPSA rules, NO ALCOHOL or tobacco products are allowed on the pool deck during meets or the team will be disqualified.

Cheering:
Cheer on the River Ratz Swimming is a team sport. Summer swimming is an excellent opportunity to meet new friends, make lasting memories, and participate in an exciting team experience. We ask that all swimmers remain at the meet until the relays are over. Help cheer the Ratz on to victory!
Pep Parties:
Pep parties are held on the mornings of home meets after each practice, and are designed to promote team spirit. Swimmers will enjoy donuts and decorate posters to be hung at the meet.
